Gravity and angular momentum forces galactic matter into an accretion disk around a black hole in the centre of a galaxy. As the accretion disk orbits the black hole, electrodynamic forces come into play, and forces out a highly collimated jet of relativistic plasma (probably electron-positron or electron-proton). So not really plasma from a black hole, but more from the “active galctic nucleus” or AGN, which is the black hole plus the accretion disk. Oooh… semi-intelligent post Apologies if no one understands what I’ve just said. ---

Yes, but there’s appropriate fighting ignorance… if you have a GD on religion, and someone fights your ignorance about their belly-button lint, you might be annoyed. Not that I have a problem, but too many of these ‘get a room’ posts inturrupts the flow of a conversation 😃 The page doesn’t actually say the captions belong with the picture below, and that people are listed respectively, but I believe I can deduce that. In which case I was right. ---
