Meaning of some songs!

Since this post is the meaning of some songs I would like an opinion on a song by Jacob Dylan’s band the wallflowers. My drunk father maintains to this very day that “one headlight” is about a woman with breast cancer who is in the hospital. Has anyone else made this connection, or does anyone know the actual meaning of the song?

Around the time the album was released there was an article in Crawdaddy magazine (now defunct) about the studio where it was recorded and its owner.
I forget the guys name but he was portrayed as someone who was dying from drug use. The opening sentence of the story was,
“[Studio Owner] is pissing blood again.”
It went on to describe an enormous amount of drug use, beautiful women with black rings under their eyes and all the usual excess in an ominous tone that seemed to mirror the song.
At one point someone unnamed suggested to the writer that the song “Hotel California” was about the studio and the scene there.
A few months later the studio owner died of congestive heart failure or something like that.
This was published in 1976 or '7. I hope my memory is accurate. It was a striking piece.
