# Medical Marijuana in Michigan

I’ve tried valiantly to google this, but the google hits I’m getting are starting to make me feel like a rat in a very large maze looking for a very tiny piece of cheese.

Can someone from out of state get a medical marijuana card good for use in Michigan’s medical marijuana dispensaries, or is it limited to Michigan residents?

I hesitate to post this as it’s strictly based upon anecdotal evidence, but in CA, CO, OR, WA, AZ & MT, to get a Medical Marijuana prescription, referral, license or permit (different states have different terms for what amounts to the same thing) you have to prove residency in that particular state before the doctor can legally prescribe you one.

Different states have different standards of proof for claiming residency.
