Our two dogs are runners - the joy of exploration gets them when they slip out the gate - “just one more bush, then ooooh loook shiny”, then they are lost. They are microchipped, and used to have collars with tags, but kept losing the tags. No idea how they got the tags off, but they don’t seem to loose the collars.
These collars are available here at most animal related fairs, like the "Dogs Day Out"s, and the people running the business would make them on the spot or post them to you if you wanted a colour combination they had run out of. Cannot recommend these collars highly enough as a aid to getting your wandering animal back.
Sort of. They liked the “FOUND” poster and as she was reading it and got to the part “female, collar (not tags, no chip)” she got all embarrassed and did a little apologetic mea culpa about how they’ve been kicking themselves for having been reminded repeatedly, but not getting around to it. They are kind of new to dog ownership in general, but this may wake them up. I really hope to pooch is at least up-to-date with her shots.
