You gotta stretch… Imagine that Obama’s closest advisors believe that global warming is an actual extinction-level threat. That justifies anything, right? But they know that the free world isn’t going to accept the dismantling of the world’s industries. So… You collapse the economy. Something that makes the Great Depression look like a minor downturn.
But that isn’t enough; eventually, we’d rebuild, and coal-burning plants would start up again. You gotta go for permanent.
So, during the massive woes of unemployment and inflation and chaos, you fake up a few wars, do a few minor genocides, and then put forward the U.N. as the cure for all the misery. Who’s gonna say no? (Especially when anyone who says no gets disappeared.) Poof: the U.N. rules.
Next, you turn it into a food-empire, like the old Chinese water empires. Stalin knew this one. Anybody disagrees, their crops fail. You get a self-sustaining totalitarian regime that makes the Roman Empire look sick. All technological progress is reduced to farm-and-village levels.
See? Pol Pot showed us the way!
But it’s WORTH IT, because it’s the only solution to global warming…

Does no one remember all the loonies who were sure that GWB was going to declare martial law so he could remain in power past 8 years? And the same rumors four years earlier? I read those things right here from posters. These paranoid fantasies have become an election year tradition.

**Pravnik** mentioned in post 39 that he’s a judge in name only, for the most part. He’s more analogous to a mayor.

Why isn’t this judge in trouble for advocating open rebellion against the government? He’s going a step further, actually using the local government to advocate his rebellion. How is it possible that someone can raise taxes in their county in order to build a militia for the expressed purpose of using it in open battle against the forces of the federal government, and not get in trouble? What the hell is going on here? The government needs to take this citizens militia movement seriously, or it’s going to bite them in the ass!

As a matter of fac t I do, and I’m pretty sure that at some point I expressed the opinion that I thought they were more or less equally worthy of derision.
Pretty sure, anyway. I’m not gonna review all my posts from 2001-08 to make sure, though.
