[New recordings.](http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2010/07/exclusive-new-audio-mel-gibson-admits-hitting-oksana-threatens-kill-her-listen-it) Pure rage. His heavy breathing and huffing is astounding. He actually sounds like he’s run a marathon before the call and is about to pop a blood vessel, and she’s Miss Liquid Cool knowing the recording is running. It’s really hard to know what his main issue is with her is between all the yelling and screaming. He’s this uber powerful movie star director, and he keeps yelling about the “looks” she gives him. For someone so powerful and accomplished to be so insanely sensitive to perceived slights is scary. She very well might be using him, but given their ages and her history I’m stunned he he expects something different. I get the impression she is tired of him and is probably treating him in a diffident manner, and he is losing his mind about it. ---

she’s a freaky looking thing. I wonder how much plastic surgery she’s had on her face? I don’t think she’s attractive at all. But Mel’s probably not used to getting heave-ho’ed by a woman. He probably can’t stand the lack of control. ---

You know why he’s shouting about the “looks” she gives him? And why he’s so sensitive? Because he’s an abuser. That’s how abusers work. He’s like a freaking case study for it and it doesn’t matter what she did or didn’t do. Men like him treat women like that because of their _own_ issues, rage, and hate, not because their chosen victims did something to instigate it. ---

The funny part is that you can hear her quite deliberately leading him through the litany of things she wants him to admit to, and he never fails to take the bait and go down every path she wants him to travel. He doesn’t stop for a second to think there might be a ring in his nose and recording device on the other end. ---

I’m getting really sick of the victim blaming with this story too. The comments on news articles about this are filled with inane insinuations about this woman somehow manipulating Gibson into saying these things. She “pushed his buttons,” she’s a “whore.” she’s a “golddigger,” she’s “looking for a payday,” etc. What the fuck? What is the basis for that? She also gets bashed for making the tapes, but if she hadn’t made the tapes she’d be gettinbg called a liar on top of everything else. She didn’t do anything to this animal. She didn’t trick him. She didn’t “use” him. He’s responsible for where he puts his own dick, and he’s responsible for what he says and does to women. Guys also don’t just become batterers overnight. He probably abused his wife for years. He’s got a lot of kids. One of them will talk sooner or later. His career is over. I don’t think he can apologize his way out of this. His apparent tactic so far seems to be to accuse this woman of “blackmailing” him, but that’s just bullshit. He’s very clearly unhinged and legitimately threatening to her,. so she didn’t have a choice. ---

This is not a defense of Gibson - he is a rascist anti-semitic mysoginist with a drinking problem who deserves contempt. The attorney on tv said that it will look more like she planned the calls, taped them, and held on to them until she needed them. The attorney made it sound like these phone calls and recordings were made quite a while ago, and the two lived together after the calls were recorded. She only brought them out after Mel decided to pull the financial plug on her. Hell, I don’t know. That’s just what the TV talking head said. I don’t know much of anything about this story. I only know they have a daughter together and they are going to court over custody. I heard this recording once and he sounds unstable to me. I wouldn’t care when she recorded it. He’s not someone I’d want to be around kids, that’s for sure. ---
