Just FYI, videos and pictures of Melania going to Puerto Rico with Donald has her wearing a very similar jacket. Not the same jacket, but army green, full-length sleeves… just no writing. (I wonder how Zara is handling this. Anyone heard anything?) ---

Someone at lunch suggested the “I don’t care message” was aimed at questions about Donald’s affairs (she likely doesn’t much care, except to the extent that they embarrass her or (potentially) Barron). That seems reasonable, although the either shoots it down entirely or at least completely stomps on her the message.l ---

There are people to whom I’d give the benefit of the doubt - maybe they bought that jacket on a whim (two years ago, it had that kind of interesting, faux-edgy vibe), maybe they just grabbed the first thing that they saw on the way out the door. Someone as image conscious as she is with a staff as image conscious as they are who calculate her every outfit with precision put thought into that jacket and made sure she was photographed with it during this particular event. She is making a statement and making it about immigrant kids and families. Showing up for a photo-op and then wearing the message “I don’t care” speaks volumes. Earlier, I may have given her a pass when it came to her public speaking; I don’t when it comes to clothes - that’s well in her strengths. ---

I don’t have a clue what was up with the jacket, but whatever it was, personal, a message to the press, political, or just completely random, IMO, based on the little bit I know, which is practically nothing, it was a stupid and not well thought out idea. That said, I don’t see any reason at all to be calling her a whore or a prostitute. I also shake my head when I read some of these posts about the state of the Trump’s marriage. I don’t care who they are, if I’m not one of the partners in that marriage, then I don’t know shit about it. So much goes on when the world isn’t watching. I also know from personal experience I’ve seen couples I thought would last a lifetime fall apart, and other couples that have been together over 20-30 years and no one who knows them saw that coming. So, I just don’t see the point in speculating about the marriage of a couple I don’t even slightly know personally. ---

To paraphrase her jacket, I really don’t care about Melania Trump. Is she a bad person? Yes, probably. But there are probably hundreds of other women like her out there. Their bad personalities doesn’t affect me. I might worry if I felt Melania Trump was a bad influence on her husband. But has shown he doesn’t need any influence to be bad. And there’s no evidence he listens to his wife, for good or bad. ---
