So, as long as I got a big ol’ stick in my hand it can be some form of hockey, right? 😃 I cleaned both bathrooms and the kitchen. That’s enough for now. Just cause I decided it’s enough. ---

I played well into my 40’s, and only stopped because a wise neurologist explained to me the hazards of continually smacking my head against objects harder than itself, and repeatedly suffering concussions, which can cause all sorts of bad things to happen to your brain, up to and including turning a living breathing person into a slobbering sort of broccoli-like being needing to be spoon fed and told “there there now” by the nice nurses in the home. Oddly enough, except for one fairly minor neck injury, I never hurt anything else except my noggin on the ice. But summer was never hockey denial time, because we played year round. In fact the summer leagues brought the best competition because that’s when a lot of college players were home and joined summer leagues to stay in shape. There’s nothing like playing in a cool rink for an hour and a half, showering then walking outside into a 95 degree steambath! ---

If nobody hears from me by late this afternoon, I’ll be dead. Because I’m taking my cat in for a bath today. She’s shedding like crazy, has dandruff (every cat up here does, I’m told) and is generally a bit of a mess. But she’s also Siamese. I hope she’ll forgive me, because I think she’ll look and feel a lot better afterwards! It might take a few hockey players to hold her down…hmm. If I only knew any. ---

Morning! Had an awesome weekend, and will party tonight like an 11 year old. Today is our daughter’s birthday. She has all Star Wars stuff for her birthday, and her favorite movie is Empire Strikes Back. She thinks Jar Jar Binks is a twit. I love her. 😃 I still think George Lucas should be tortured: you know how hard it is to explain that no, what you think is movie #1 was actually the 4th movie out? What was he thinking? ---

🙂 Still alive. She was amazingly good for the whole thing. I’m surprised and impressed. No weeding here; knowing my luck I’d be hit with a random drug test at just the wrong time if I did. Oh well. I never have, but I admit to being curious. ---

Back from dindin at the good Eyetalian place. YUM! It was a chicken sorta night cause we ended up ordering family platters of the chicken bowtie festival and the chicken parmesan. I got outvoted on the baked cheese tortellini with meat sauce. Plus we had tiramisu! Nummy, nummy, nummy tiramisu! I was really glad afterward that I had gone to :eek:Wally\*World:eek: already cause I’s stuffded! Thus is the excitement from swampland tonight. ---

I am going to vent a little here. Last night I had a most disturbing dream, in which the Asshat[sup]TM[/sup] came to see me at chorus rehearsal. He was contrite and sincere and begging forgiveness and I told him to take a long walk off a short pier. I walked away feeling very proud of myself. That part was not upsetting - in fact I think I smiled in my sleep. Then while I was out of the room, he asked my chorus mates what he needed to do to win me back. They gave him some suggestions. The scene fast forwarded, and he and I were, um, _together_; in the dream it made me happy, but I woke up angry, perplexed, and very sad. All day I went around with this cloud around me. Until my nephew called to tell me that the procedure my brother had today was successful and he’ll soon be good as new. (he had extensive back surgery for stinosis). And suddenly all I wanted to do was sob hysterically for a few hours. Instead I called a friend who’s off to a well deserved vacation tomorrow. I did not mention the dream to her (she knows the whole history), or to anyone else. But I am still troubled by it. I know dreams are just stories the mind tells to clear out the garbage, but why in Og’s name is that piece of ^&$%& still in my head? :mad: ---

Aww **Rosie**! I’m sorry that you had that dream; dunno why the person’s name is rolling around in some far corner of your brain, but there ya are. Try not to think about it (yeah right, I know!!). **BooFae** , my curiosity got me and I googled fascinators and now I’m really intrigued! You must share a pic of yours now. 🙂 We had huge storms roll thru here this afternoon, and afterwards it seems even hotter and steamier, if that can be believed. We were supposed to be getting -relief- from the heat and humidity, not making it worse! ☹ Ah well, holiday weekend is coming up. 🙂 And one down, only three more to go for me! Wee! ---
