I’ll apologize in advance for posting this here, but no one is answering my emails… I keep getting notices that my “access to the paid subscription “Straight Dope Board Membership” is about to expire. [snip] If you do not extend your subscription you will revert to Guest status. As a Guest you’ll be shown banner advertising and will lose some of the privileges of your current membership status.” As far as I can tell I have renewed my subscription. I paid for the Charter Membership renewal and I have two active subscriptions (one is about to expire, but the other is valid until 2022): Subscription Title, Start Date, Expiry Date Straight Dope Board Charter Membership, 05-16-2020, 05-16-2022 Straight Dope Board Membership, 05-22-2018, 05-22-2020 I am starting to get worried that, despite renewing my membership, I’m about to lose my Charter Member status! Can someone allay my fears? ---

The membership that is about to expire is a regular membership, not a charter membership. Did you let your charter membership expire and did our admin manually renew it for you afterwards? If not, I’m not sure how you ended up with two different types of subscriptions. What _should_ happen is that the regular membership will expire, but the charter membership should take over at that point. But the board software does occasionally screw things like this up. For example, when I became a moderator, my charter membership expired some time later and the board made me a guest, removing my moderator status. If the board software does screw up, let us know and we’ll fix it for you. ---

Thank you. Yes, an admin _very kindly_ restored my charter status in 2018 which I had let expire due to the complete chaos my life was in at that time. Sounds like I’m all set but I will inquire after the 22d if something goes wrong. Thank you. ---
