Note: for this poll, I’m not talking about when you pee at the same time that you poop, because you’re almost certainly sitting down for that. I voted for about half the time, because I usually sit down at home and stand everywhere else. I generally just have boxers on at home, so I don’t have to go through the trouble of unbuckling my belt, unzipping my pants, etc. Therefore, I find it just as easy to sit down as stand. Plus, there’s the added benefit of being less messy–I don’t have to clean the seat or the back of the rim nearly as often. Anywhere else, I have pants on and therefore find it much easier to stay standing. I’d also be afraid of someone making fun of me if they noticed me sitting down to pee in a public restroom. ---

I voted “rarely” because when I’m constipated, I often pee sitting down but don’t poop. However, your comment in the OP could mean I should have put “never.” ---

I voted sometimes, but less than half the time. Whenever I wake up for a middle-of-the-night pee, I always sit down. Makes things a hell of a lot easier and less potentially messy. ---

At home, when it’s dark and I don’t want to blind myself with light or pee on the floor. If I don’t want a cat to bug me and possibly look into the toilet while I’m peeing. If I just feel like it. ---

**ValosZ** : Because toilets are not designed be to comfortable. My leg always goes to sleep on one if I sit too long. I only put about half the time because my dizziness problems sometimes force me to sit, and I also do it in the dark like **thelurkinghorror**. ---

Oh, maybe we should put in an exception for medical conditions where you don’t have a choice of standing or sitting? ---

Even when I was on crutchs and wearing a leg brace after shattering my kneecap I found it easier to stand to pee that to sit down. I always stand (unless of course I’m doing #2). ---
