Anyway, I’m not a guy but I estimate that my hubby will sit to pee a very small fraction of the time ( less than 1%), if he’s very tired or not feeling well. He’s a tall fellow, I wonder if that has anything to do with it? ---

I will stand and use urinals, but I will always sit on toilets. I am very paranoid about getting small amounts of urine all over the bathroom, and that’s if I manage to aim perfectly. I regularly stood up to pee in toilets when I was much younger and shorter, but now it’s just too risky. I always wondered if I was alone in this thought process. ---

I’m 6’4". My brother 6’7" and I can guarantee you without even asking that he’s never sat down to pee. ---

Pee Shy. Cruellest thing I’ve ever read was ‘and you know, getting over that is REALLY easy! It’s just a simple little thing…’ and then the solution was never mentioned. It varies, sometimes I can pee in front of the opening ceremonies of the Olympics…others, can’t do it. Count sheep, think of the queen, nothing’ll get the flow goin’. ---

I once read the brain can’t deal with stopping you pee and do calculations at the same time, or something like that. Maybe that was just false info, but while I’m not pee shy, on the few occasions the flow won’t come, that does the trick for me. ---

I really only do it out of laziness: if it’s the middle of the night I just don’t bother to turn the light on, because that’s going to wake me up too much. But I’m not going to aim in the dark because I’m not going to clean that up if I miss, and I probably will. ---

1. If I get up to pee in the middle of the night, I will always sit down. Aiming when you’re sleepy and incoherent and it’s dark is just not a good idea. 2. Sometimes I’ll sit to pee if I’m running late and doing as much as I can at the same time. Have you ever tried to rub your belly and pat your head at the same time? It ain’t easy. Now try to pee and brush your teeth at the same time. Yeah. 3. If I’m a guest in someone’s home, I’ll sit to pee. It’s just not cool to run the risk of the spray on the seat or floor. 4. I guess about the only time I pee while standing is if I’m at a public restroom urinal, such as here at the office. Also, if it’s dark, I’ll stand to pee off my back deck. ---

In fact, if I’m in a line somewhere waiting my turn, I’ll usually start multiplication tables in my head in advance. ---

I have a night light, albeit on the wall. I should’ve also mentioned severe myopia, I can’t be arsed to put on glasses. Sitting down is fine, and protects against peeing on a cat or having my dangly bits be a tetherball.. ---

I pee sitting down because I’m responsible for cleaning the toilet most of the time, and (TMI…) I’ve seen a urine stream hitting the bowl in sunlight, and it splashes everywhere. ---

I put down usually. I have a Prince Albert (PA) piercing and urinating from a standing position into a toilet (not urinal) can be messy due to _ahem_ directional challenges. In most cases I will use a urinal in public, being cautious and avoiding the low-mounted “accessible” urinals.
