I am an experienced belcher, winner of many belching contests throughout my youth. However, my husband finds this less of an accomplishment and more of a gross habit. So I decided to see what my Male Doper counterparts say. Sexy, not sexy, just plain icky?šŸ˜• IDBB ---

I can overlook it, but itā€™s not an attractant (my older sister and I, BTW, were in a dead heat for years, clearly blowing away the younger sibs). ---

My current SO finds it strangely endearing. Well, that and the fact that I can finish off an entire rack of baby back ribs in a single sitting, then polish off the side dishes and a mint. I doubt my neighbors like it much, however, as thereā€™s an open window right near my desk and I can get a good echo off the next building over. ---

In and of itself, itā€™s not particularly attractive. However, most girls that Iā€™ve met that do are way cool, so it is a sign of quality. What Iā€™m trying to say is that belching isnā€™t attractive, but a willingness to is. ---

Sexy? No, but does it need to be? But having thought about it, I have just a little bit more respect for the woman who can let out a belch now and then. ---

IMHO not sexy. Belch when you need to, when thereā€™s a challenge on the table, but donā€™t make a habit of it. Though YMMV - does anyone think itā€™s sexy in a man? Macho I can see, but sexy?? ---

I donā€™t find it sexy in a ā€œOooh, babyā€ kind of way (and I know thereā€™s probably burp fetishists or something and they have websites). But I do respect that person quite a bit. And Iā€™m liable to give a ā€œHell yea!ā€ to a particularly good belch. ---

My husband thinks itā€™s funny that I can do it - we tend to belch around the house when no one else is around, but donā€™t think itā€™s cool to belch around other people. And when Cameron Diaz said on some talk show that she could do something she was very proud of, then belched loudly, his response was, ā€œI think Iā€™m in love!ā€ šŸ˜ƒ ---

While I donā€™t find it sexy, I find it endearing. People fart and belch. I find a woman who can burp or fart in public as someone who isnā€™t worried about what the world thinks of her. If you have to run to the bathroom to do either, why? Are you so perfect that you apparently do not have a gas relief out of one or both valves? Iā€™d rather be with someone who accepts the fact that they have normal bodily functions rather than someone who is ashamed of them. Everyone farts and burps. To imply that you do neither, or have to run away to do either, is simply ridiculous. ---

I like it when a woman canā€™t belch very well at all but does (by accident) every once in a while. I find the embarrassment _after_ the belch cute. ---

If you _can_ belch, more power to you. Please, just donā€™t do it and then laugh uproariously like you just told the funniest joke ever. Itā€™s annoying as hell and the antithesis of attractiveness. ---
