Women send love letters to death row inmates. Do men send love letters to females on death row? I read they don’t. Is it so? Why? ---

When I was running my interior store I sold some drapery to a woman who married the “Night Stalker” serial killer while he was in prison. She was a nice looking woman about 20 years older than him. A nutty co-dependent type. ---

Apparently Karla Homolka got plenty of adoring male fan letters while in prison. I don’t think I’m going to find cites for this, at work anyway. ---

Not prison related, but I seem to recall reading that the “any soldier” program (where you could write a letter that would go to _some_ active duty soldier, hopefully encouraging them in their duty) was shut down because many women/girls were treating it as a personals service \<3, and there were letters coming addressed to “Any single medical officer” or something like that. ---

This thread title is confusing. The OP is asking about _men_ writing letters to _women_ is prison, right? With **Indian** ’s indulgence, I’m going to change the title to reflect that. ---

There was (is) a program on TruTV about sad sacks who latch onto sociopaths in prison. Most appear to be women, but this behavior is certainly not unknown in men. Wonder what percentage of these relationships survive the prisoner getting out of jail, wherein the fantasy starts going bad. ---

Just a WAG, but women often find writing and receiving letters a romantic fantasy and might find corresponding with a death row inmate sexually arousing and satisfying - perhaps because it is just a fantasy that (most likely) will never come true. The thrill and excitement of the ultimate bad boy writing to them! Men generally like more instant gratification and would probably settle for a picture of a woman’s mugshot and two minutes alone in front of the computer screen, than actually have to bother writing words. ---
