Merry Chrissy to you, too! My sister spent some time in Australia and she said you call it Chrissy down there. ---

It’s never really Christmas until I hear this classic… [Christmas in Dixie](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjopqWOCTWs) ---

It is 105 degrees in the shade here. For Christmas I received a weather station and put it outside in the sun (it has a rain gauge etc). It is recording 118 degrees- it doesn’t go any higher. ---

Yes- I was talking to a friend in Geelong earlier and she said the weather was pretty good. Also spoke to family in Rockhampton and they are totally sick of the rain. ---

It got up to just on 30 here today (Maitland NSW), and it looks like we’ll be getting much the same tomorrow for Boxing Day. ---

It has dropped to 34 C outside now (7.30 PM). Cold beer is mandatory. I can’t work out the Bureau of Meteorology. According to them it was 40 degrees Celsius here today- it was far hotter than that. ---

Twas a lovely 28 here in Sydney, now 24. I have had many, many Margaritas. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and now I have to go to bed and get some semblance of order going on so I can call my American family in the morning and not sound like I have a hangover! ---
