Mr. Simmons, My grandfather made a similar decision a few years back. It was a real gift to be able to say goodbye to him - really to cherish him every day for the next 11 months as if it were his last. Still incredibly hard to lose him - we were very close - but much easier than if he had, say, gotten hit by a bus. That last year was no doubt one of the best in a life full of very good years. You have long been one of my favorite posters here. I haven’t posted in awhile but I saw this thread by happenstance and had to tell you so. Thank you for serving the world in the war. I wish the best for you and hope that your remaining time can be among the best in a life that has undoubtedly been filled with good times. ---
