Cancer’s a bitch, but having an idea of when the end is coming can be a blessing - it was for my family, when Dad’s Mom figured her circulation problems were getting a tad too much to live alone; we had time to say our farewells, she had time to give away personally any object that she wanted to go to a specific person (any relative of mine who, after her death, claimed “she wanted me to have that!” was talking out of his ass). I hope your illness is as pain-free as possible and that you and your loved ones can enjoy the time you still have together. Happy travels, David. ---

As always, my first reaction to news like this is a heartfelt, “Aw, CRAP!” How I wish that no one had to get news like this, ever again. David, we’ve never interacted on the board, but I’ve seen your posts and generally found them to be the bar I aspire to. Whatever comes, I hope it is as painfree and graceful as possible. ---
