# Metformin for PCOS -- experiences?

And yet you’ve had people who don’t have PCOS answering, anyway. If you had defined PCOS, you might have gotten only the answers you’re interested in. Something to think about.

WTF? (What The Fuck?) I thought PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) was a pretty well known acronym. Some terms - UNICEF (United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund) for example - are widely understood by their acronyms, as least by people in the US (United States), and I would have thought PCOS fit into that category. It’s certainly been discussed many times before in the MPSIMS (Mundane Pointless Stuff I Must Share) and IMHO (In My Humble Opinion) subforums of the SDMB (Straight Dope Message Board).

I was talking to my SO (Significant Other) about PCOS a few hours before I read the thread, as a matter of fact - one of my co-workers seems to show some of the symptoms. So I don’t think it’s all that weird a term. Of course, YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary).
