I was responding to that remark. If you have problems with it, direct it to **monavis**

As someone who had 2 miscarriages and wanted them to develop to adulthood, I saw nothing that looked human. Then after it resembles a human in progress, a woman has the right legally to decide what she can handle, it still is no one’s business except her, and her doctor as to how she is physically able to carry it to term. The law has already established the time. By then most women had made a choice.

Self defense is her right, just as if someone were trying to take her life with a gun, she has the right to defend herself. If one doesn’t know her circumstance they have no right to judge. Maybe they should start looing to see why they feel the need to judge. I was under the impression that Christians were not to Judge…guess I am wrong about some? The man they choose to follow wasn’t out looking for sinners, at least that is my understanding; if the Bible is correct, he made exceptions to the rule.

Bullshit. [Looks human, it is a chimpanzee](http://neon.pictura-hosting.nl/wpp/wpp_mrx_bld/thumbs/632x632/wpp/00/JPEG_-_winners_1996/1996050AL.jpg). The first one is no surprise since humans and chimps share 96% of their DNA. IMO, the second one does look monkeyish. Fortunately, science rarely employs the “looks like” test.

you have a million grains of sand. We can safely say its a heap of sand. now take away a grain and it is still a heap of sand. keep removing one grain at a time, at what point does it stop being a heap of sand?

> [@Terr](#):

> You tell me. Can you draw a line?

I can draw a bunch of lines. One at the end of the first trimester when the unfettered right to abortion (or what SHOULD be an unfettered right) end and the state can start imposing some restrictions and another at the end of the second trimester when the state can prohibit abortion that are not necessary to prevent death and disability.

> [@](#):

> And abortions do not involve two-celled organisms. Or four-celled. Or eight-celled.

Thats not what the “life begins at concenption crowd” believes. They call Plan B an abortion pill.

> [@Der\_Trihs](#):

> In the real world there are seldom such neat clean lines. However; the existence of twilight doesn’t invalidate the existence of night and day. The fact that we can’t pin down an exact line where a blob of tissue becomes a person doesn’t mean that the blob is a person from the start any more than it means that a 30 year old guy is just a lump of meat because he started out that way.

If you would only replace “30 year old guy” with “third trimester fetus”, we’d be on the same page.

> [@Terr](#):
>
> But you draw an arbitrary line and decide that before it it’s a “blob of tissue” and after it it’s a person. Anti-abortion people also draw an arbitrary line, it’s just earlier than your arbitrary line.

Anti-abortion folks draw a line that brooks no understanding of the subtlety or nuance

Whether they were raped, whether their contraception failed, whether they were caught up in the moment, or whether their financial situation is no longer viable to support a child, whether they were subject to abstinence only education…

> All of them are attached to an unwanted violinist. Some of them left the door unlocked.

Its a bit more than leaving the door unlocked. And I certainly think that the woman has a duty to evict within a reasonable period of time, say three to six months.

> No; my position is, again, consistent with both reality and the general ethical position of society. Theirs is not. Theirs is a fantasy based construct built for the purpose of justifying the mistreatment of women; nor as **Damuri Ajashi** points out do the “pro-lifers” even act in a manner consistent with their own supposed beliefs.
>
> Which I’m sure is a major reason why you keep saying “in your opinion only” instead of trying to actually defend a position that you know is indefensible.

I’m not sure that you represent the mainstream of society except in the sense that the mainstream of society does not believe in “life begins at conception” They certainly believe it begins sometime before birth.

It can be proven that human life began before conception it is a passed on thing from a man’s sperm, to a woman’s egg. Just as in any living thing it is passed on through the ages. If this were not so we would not have ancestors!
