# Methylene chloride has me moving out (for now)

Downstairs neighbor moved out and his bathtub is being resurfaced with methylene chloride (MC). Unfortunately, for some reason, the vapor is going into MY apartment. It is a smell like nail-polish remover.

Apparently, if the MC can even be smelled, that means it is already 10 times more concentrated than the safe limit. (The safe limit is 25 ppm. If one can smell it, that means it is already 250ppm. Maybe I’ll need to buy a detector or something.)

Been crashing at a friend’s house. Smell still lingers in apartment, last time I checked. Sitting and waiting…

What did your landlord say about this?  
That seems alot to put someone through.

They are kind of cavalier, saying it shouldn’t be an issue after 5 hours. It has been over 30 hours now.

Yes, that’s probably a good idea.  
Is there a Rental rights office in your area, I am willing to bet there is a law against making your home uninhabitable. Good luck.
