This is probably true, particularly because the rediscovered movie is in much worse shape than the version that’s been around since 1928. The article mentions that they’ll probably not be able to totally remove the scratches in the “new” footage, making it obvious what was originally cut.

I’m looking forward to seeing it, even if Lang stole all the best bits from **Star Wars** , Whale’s **Frankenstein** movies, and that Madonna video.
