Metropolis (the movie) and child porn

OK. You guys have convinced me. I’m worried about nothing. It’s not so much that the scene disturbs me, as I’ve been conditioned to react to anything in an old movie that might trigger whackos to banning it because out of context it violates something. I read something once where someone thought movies that showed underage people smoking ought to be either censored or banned because it’s illegal now, even though it wasn’t when the film was made. I thought of all the films, from Stand by Me to The Bad News Bears that would be affected, and got a bad feeling.

I’d hate to lose Metropolis because of laws made 80 years in another country after the film was released.

Let’s just hope that the OP never sees any of Shirley Temple’s films.

What country are you in now, that you would “lose” Metropolis?

The Dryden Theater of the George Eastman Museum of Photography is having a showing on Metropolis on November 18, with music by the Alloy Orchestra. There’s no chance of Metropolis being lost.

I’ve heard that if Hillary is elected, she will come and grab all of our silent movie DVDS!

If the movie can survive Giorgio Moroder, it can survive anything.
