My google-fu is failing me.

I’m trying to find a realtor that lists apartment/condo rentals and/or home/condo sales in Mexico, particularly in Playa del Carmen. Unfortunately, all I’m finding are luxury real estate brokers ($1,400 USD per week for a beachside condo isn’t exactly what I’m looking for).

Can someone point me to a Mexican real-estate broker that offers the type of housing that ordinary Mexicans live in? If it has to be in Spanish, so be it: my Spanish isn’t great, but I can usually piece together the gist of whatever Spanish I’m reading.

Gracias.

[Realty Executives](http://www.playarealtyexecutives.com/) is also an American real estate franchise. I think most of them have franchises in Mexico. Remax, etc.

It isn’t legal for an American to own real estate in Mexico so you have to do a 99 year lease or hold it in trust with a Mexican Bank or something.

There’s a whole set of rules and regulations for Americans owning land in Mexico, involving trusts & whatnot.

But mostly I’m interested in rentals.

By the way I understand Mexico has an illegal immigration problem with people who find the commute into San Diego shorter and the values better.

It’s 100km from the coast and borders, but bank trusts are routine and as rock solid as the bank is (and there are rock solid banks).

Try seccionamarilla.com.mx for “real” Mexican realtors.
