You only have one little mouse, I was dealing with the RatKing and his minions. 😃

Do you know anyone with a rat dog? While I think that cats are a good permanent solution to rodent problems, cats take a while to get settled in. If you can borrow a terrior, your mouse will be gone very quickly and rat dogs either eat the rodents or leave the entire broken body.

Victories and a battle-loss.

2 mice in one night, thanks to [THIS!](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000WZ4KO0/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00)
WOW!

Does this thing ever work!!!
And then,. I tripped & fell on it.

Smashed flat.
New one on order.

I may or may not be mouse free right now.

All the old traps have been left in place.

I just discovered that something ate away at the spray insulation around a big water pipe in the basement. I remember a scribbling sound which we wrote off as the groundhogs under the front porch. Oops.

Oh ooh I need to order one of these. I have genius-mice again. I am serious, I do not understand how they can be this intelligent. It’s freaking me out

Also, **ryobserver** , my mutant-freak-mice don’t give a crap about thigmotaxis, they run straight through a room I’m in, skid on the floor and fly to the other side. It’s spectacular.

If peanut butter is not working for you, try bacon grease. It always worked for us down on the farm, with the added bonus that you get to cook and eat some bacon.

All quiet on the western Front.

No sign of mice, no mouse poops located.

New trap on order.

Did I…win?

Poop appeared again in the utensil drawer. ☹ Utensil tray has been removed and walk-in-don’t-walk-out trap baited with peanut butter and Ritz cracker. He’ll be too smart for that I’m sure.

You also have genius-freak-mice? They are weirding me out with their intelligence. THEY ARE NOT NORMAL

I got a stupid one this morning! Ha, n00b mouse! Then I looked at his cute little face and his whiskers and… ☹

But… I’m still going to murder all his cute furry friends and relations. If I can. Which I can’t. Because they are all genius engineer mice who posses intricate knowledge of traps.

Hee, we got one! He echewed the go-in-don’t-come-out humane trap, with PB and Ritz, which would have led him to being dumped out on the woods. So my father declared war – snappy traps, poison trays… Mousie went for the American cheeze on the old-fashioned snap-his-neck trap. It did the job! He was warm brown with a white belly.

I’ve got a freaking squirrel in my shed. I just found his store of pine cones. There has to be at least 100 of them in my bag of peat moss.

I’ll live trap until the snow flies then poison for the winter. I’ll have to clean out the shed in the spring before the body thaws and rots but those suckers can do some serious damage to lawn furniture and I want it gone.

I’ve gotten another 4 mice in the garage with these:

They work really well.

Not just lawn furniture. I used to have some serious issues with squirrels chewing up my telephone, power, and cable lines back at the old house. I think that squirrels are really, really cute, and it’s adorable the way that they’ll bury a nut in the ground, but they become considerably less cute and adorable when I am presented with a line repair bill (they love to live in the attic and chew the lines, which means that the homeowner pays for repairs).

Careful! That’s a deer mouse, and those are the ones that are a vector for Lyme disease (in the northeastern US) and hantavirus (mostly in the southwestern US). All the more reason to get them out of the house, of course; but be careful handling the corpses.

Oh shit. Well, I grabbed the trap with a paper towel and scrubbed my hands afterward. The frugal part of me made me try for a moment to get the trap back but it was pretty well buried in his neck so it all got tossed.

My parents just got a new cat because the super intelligent mice they had weren’t going in the traps. I suggested Finn as name, for Huckleberry Finn. So that’s his name. He is gorgeous, but a clumsy idiot. I was berating him for not being a true mouser like my Tabby used to be, so he decided to show me.

We were over at my parents for St Nicolas. We were all sitting by the fire unwrapping presents when Finn marched into the middle and proudly deposited his contribution to the present pile: his first mouse!

There was much ooh-ing and aah-ing, and loud, proud mewing.

Well done Finn! Now I need to convince my parents that Finn should come for a sleepover at my house… My mice are not interested in my traps at all ☹
