I forgot A2) Jesus said he was the resurrection and the life. :o
SO:
A) Jesus is God incarnate.
A2) Jesus said he was the resurrection and the life.
B) Life begins at forty.
C) A day to God (and thus Jesus) is a thousand years to a man.
D) It’s been two thousand years since Jesus was born, therefore:
E) 40 + 2 = 42.
Now it makes sense.
Well depending on your denomination, either he
a) repeats what you say rote to God, who of course understands
or b) he now understands, being in heaven and all, but wouldn’t have until his ascension. (I don’t know of any place in the Bible where it says that he was able to understand anything other than Aramaic.)
Anyway, try calling on him by his original name, maybe he likes it better like that.
Well, technically, Jesus’ name is now translated into English. So ‘they’ probably weren’t saying ‘Jesus’ in his time. But in English, his name is Jesus Ben-Joesph of Nazareth. Historically speaking there, of course, were fewer people around in his time - so people often were remarked by their father (Ben-Joseph meaning ‘son of Joseph’) or by their city/town/area (Nazareth). Also, ‘Christ’ is not his last name. We get Christ from the greek word Cristos (sometimes spelled with a “K”) which means ‘anointed one’.
