I put it in the Pit since I figured it would end up here anyway. I began watching this with the hope that MJ would prove the charges wrong, plant a seed of doubt in my mind. As I continue watching, I become more and more flabergasted. He claims the police, basically, brutalized him. He claims they dislocated **both** of his shoulders, but you see him leaving the station immediately afterwards and waving, arms high in the air. During the interview, he claims he can only move his arms in certain ways, and then a few minutes later, proceeds to move his arms just as he said he couldn’t! I’m sorry, but the police aren’t stupid enough to abuse a suspect in such a high profile case. And as the interview continues, it just gets worse… ---

The scariest part was when he _delicately, gingerly,_ scratched his nose. I was so afraid it would fall off, and evidently so was he . . . I have no idea if he had sex with those kids or not. It’s plain he’s nuttier than a Stuckey’s Log. Why the hell would he face an interview in that godawful shirt, and looking eerily like [Gene Tierney](http://silverscreensirens.com/tierney02.htm)? ---

And he has had SO much plastic surgery, that it appears that it’s affected his speech - his mouth looked lopsided and he wasn’t forming his words well, almost slurring. Sometimes I think the fascination with him is that he’s a wealthy, talented and successful performer who happens to be black, and thus, his whole life people have been reticent about telling him the facts of life, since the history of black men in America is so otherwise than his life, and people want him to succeed and, more importantly, be associated with him. Sadly, though, this “glorification of Michael Jackson” may have been counterproductive to forming a healthy frame of mind. Hope this doesn’t sound racist. ---

Now that the interview is over, I’m still flabergasted! How could he think this interview would **help** his case at all?? **Eve** , I agree on the nose thing. All of us were giggling like mad thinking about it. When I saw the (Bashir?) interview, I felt sorry for him. Now, I am more inclined to see him as psychotic and manipulative. When did he get this nutty? ---

There are plenty of wealthy, talented, successful, black performers. The other wealthy, talented, successful, black performers haven’t had their skin lighted to zombie shade, been seen with multiple versions of a nose, talked like a teenage girl (let’s leave Prince out of this), and invited kiddies over to their house to play with their toys. **THAT’s** why the media has a fascination. ---

I also read that he STILL says that there’s nothing wrong with him sleeping in the same bed with children and that he’ll continue to do. Okay, let’s say he IS innocent. He’s just fucking stupid. ---

I haven’t seen the interview (it hasn’t even aired here yet) and I don’t intend to do so. I did read that CBS would only agree to air his music special if he granted the interview. That explains _why_ he did it but not why he apparently said such stupid stuff. In better MJ news for me personally, the actual trial is being held in the Santa Maria courthouse in the North end of the county so I’m not in the jury pool. Haj ---

I watched most of the MJ interview tonight. Let’s just say that I couldn’t lip-read the dude. His upper lip is virtually immobile. I don’t think Michael Jackson could pucker his lips anymore if his life depended on it. If you have it on tape, compare it to Ed Bradley. I can lip-read _him_, because at least the nerves in his upper lip are still functioning. ---

Since his music is no longer particularly popular, it’s interesting that he’s now as famous for how he looks as he is for music and alleged molestation. The irony, of course, is in Jackson’s earlier fascination with the story of the Elephant Man; he has become the Elephant Man. Life (unintentionally) imitating art imitating life, anyone ? ---
