I hate the Red Sox, and I’m ambivalent towards Curt Schilling, but when he came out to the mound during the playoffs with blood soaking through his sock, you better believe I stopped to watch. That was compelling stuff.

Nothing overcomes my subjective feelings about an athlete or a team better than when they’re involved in a good, competitive contest and they’re giving their best effort.

Serena’s unquestionably a champion of her sport even if she acted like a selfish jerk this weekend. Whitlock thinks he’s being brave or honest by calling her fat over and over, but he comes off as a cupcake-loving hypocrite.
