Another followup from Lind. His argument here is that liberals and progressives are missing a bet, and have been missing it for decades, by writing off the white working class as “conservative,” when in fact American conservatism’s demographic center-of-gravity is much more upscale.

That is partially due to (in addition) the rise of identity politics and emphasis on wedge issues (such as guns, gay marriage, and abortion) by both the Democrats and Republicans.
