Hey, people, there’s a WAR on! People are pissed off. You’re damned lucky they’re keeping it to hijacking award shows and not blowing up buildings or taking hostages. Also, when the fuck did the right to dissent get chucked out the window? I must have missed the part where the First Amendment got repealed. As for the 2000 election, good LUCK keeping us from reminding you Repugs of that one. It was a stolen election! The guy who sits in the White House and the guys who sit on the Supreme Court bench OUGHT to be sitting in jail cells! It’s a big deal, and we WILL NOT forget. A blowjob is such a minor thing by comparison. ---

OK, let’s do this slowly, for Evil Captor and everyone else who keeps talking about free speech. This. is. not. an. issue. of. free. speech. Not one person, to the best of my knowledge, has advocated jailing Moore, fining him, or taking any sort of legal action against him for his remarks. That’s what the first amendment deals with. The first amendment says (paraphrased): you can’t pass a law making any kind of speech illegal. Not that every kind of speech is appropriate, or that individual citizens can’t think Michael Moore is a putz (which he is) for expressing his opinions in an inarticulate, poorly-thought-out fashion. So please, stop wailing about the first amendment. It’s irrelevant here. Yes, it’s still America, and Michael Moore still has the right to say what he wants, even at the Oscars. Similarly, as someone already said, I have the right to make a drunken toast about how much I despite my sister’s fiancee at her rehearsal dinner, but I shouldn’t, and people would be perfectly permitted under the first amendment to think I’m an asswipe. The audience laughed **loudly** after Steve Martin’s remark about Moore and the teamsters. I suspect that (most of) the members in the audience, even those opposed to the war, realized the idiocy and crassness of Moore’s actions… (regardless of whatever “right” he had to express them). ---

I feel that, at this point, Michael Moore has jumped the shark. After offending an audience at the Oscars, what new hijinks can he pull? He peaked last night. (BTW, I approve of Mr. Moore’s 1st Amendment right to say as he wishes, and of the 1st Amendment right of the audience to boo.) ---

What’s so fucking holy about an awards show? You know what’s inappropriate. Governor Bush injecting his fucktard religion into every aspect of public life. The way he turned his inauguration into a church service was fucking inappropriate. The fact that he forces everyone who works at the White House to go to Bible study meetings is grossly inappropriate. Constantly asking the rest of the country to pray to his fucktard God is inappropriate. When GWB gives a speech or addresses the public in an official capacity, he needs to be a fucking professional and keep his sub-moronic religious views to himself. I hope we can all agree that the next time Bush is giving a State of the Union speech (which is slightly more important than handing out shiny statues to narcissists) and he starts blathering on about Jesus Christ, he should be booed the fuck off stage. ---

I am outraged at Michael Moore. I can’t believe that he could be so rude as to say things that suggest he hates America, and that he hates the greatest part of America, which is the great American president. What an ass - doing it in the Oscars, too. The Oscars are no place for politics. The only thing that should be going on in the Oscars is crying and hailing of powerful religious figures. Fuck you, Michael Moore. In your speech, you didn’t even mention God. You didn’t cry. And you insulted the great and wonderful president, and you even reminded us all of the way that he was rightfully given the electoral college votes in Florida, thus saving us from 4 years of appeasement by the Democrats, who would have destroyed the economy and given New Hampshire to Iraq. Michael Moore, I simply cannot condone the way you hate America. I think you should go live in another country, where no-one can go on TV and criticise the President. I think you should stop disrespecting the world’s only great democracy, before we all get blown up by Iraqi terrorists. And I think that you should start listening to Rush Limbaugh more, who is the third wisest man in the world, after Jesus Christ and George W Bush. ---
