I once came across an interesting dialect quiz that’s supposedly able to narrow down your origins (or at least your speech influences, based on geography. It correctly nailed me down to within 50 miles of my birthplace.

If someone wants to know how they talk in the UP, simply watch the film Escanaba in da Moonlight. The actors do a perfect job with the accent, and Daniels got maximum mileage from all the UP stereotypes.
