How do you know he survived? Maybe what we think is Jagger is either a remote controlled dummy or an up-and-coming young actor. Mick Jagger can put on a show that outpaces rock musicians half his age. Any of us should be so fortunate to possess such _elan_ at sixty years old. I may not share many of his personal tastes, but as a musician and performer, my hat’s off to him. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICK!!! ---

Keith Richards is going to be 60 in a couple of months. That may be the only thing that could dwarf the strangeness of Mick’s survival. ---

Probably. Pete Townshend wrote “I hope I die before I get old,” and Neil Young said “It’s better to burn out”… apparently none of these guys even _dreamed_ they’d reach this age. Perhaps after seeing a lot of their contemporaries die young, they realized death might not be that much fun. ---

Living here in Las Vegas, we get every music group alive who can still be wheeled up on stage. 99% of them are crap…voices gone and not worth the free tickets you get comped from the local casinos. There are very few who can still carry it off to charge money and be worth seeing. In the past, the only older performers who have been able to still sell a ticket are solo artists with a lot of laid back tunes that can be sung sitting on/clutching a barstool with a chorus helping them in the background. The fact that the Stones can still kick ass at that age is amazing. My guess is that unless Cher’s farewell tour extends to 2023, as many predict, Mick is going to go out the champion! Happy Birthday Mick! I attended Mick’s birthday party in 1978. Well, me and 60,000 other people at the Oakland Collesium to see the Stones. Helicopters dropped ping pong balls with Happy Birthday Mick on them and foot long naked lady blow up dolls. Keith is the one I’m amazed at having survived ---

I must say it is an unbelievable achievement. But remember that a lot of old cats are still performing (very well) too: B.B. King, Bob Dylan, McCartney, etc. Keith will be 60 soon too. To be living like he does and still surviving and kicking ass; now that’s incredible!! ---

It seems to me that the common factor among these old rockers is that they are thin. Saw Robert Plant and Jimmy Page a couple of years ago, and I was amazed at how well they looked. However, BB King is not thin, at least he was not when I also saw him in 2001. Rock on! 🆒 ---

They had an interview with Jagger in anticipation of the humungo-show in Toronto next week, and it was hilarious; he IS an old man. His big thing was to remind everyone to drink lots of water and to assure the fans that the show wouldn’t go too late. ---
