I don’t think they ever actually admitted how much they were paying for the Xbox but estimates have been anywhere from $300 to $400. Let’s just hope they made this price drop with the confidence that they will cover the difference with upcoming killer games. One estimate had _every single_ Xbox owner buying 25 games (at 50 bucks a pop) in order for Microsoft to turn a profit. ---

I think the new ps2 is coming out in June, with tons of improvements & with the network adapter, I think, thats why the price drop? ---

Yes I read in USA Today that the revamped PS2 will sell for 199 and include the network adapter. ---

Apart from the adapter how is the new PS2 going to be improved? I haven’t really read anything about it. ---

They’ll probably add a bigger blue light to it. Oh well. The Xbox price drop won’t be what encourages people to buy an Xbox… games like Fable, Halo 2, and Doom 3 will (in the case of the latter, it’ll be better to spend $179 to play the game instead of about $300-$400 for computer upgrades). ---

New ps2 should read +r dvd disks so you can watch your dvd+r s on it… ---

Hmm progressive scan doesn’t make any difference on regular TV’s, right? It’s probably not much use to me.
