The Tavern on the Bridge is quite excellent and little pricey. Gil-Gandel’s tastes cost him about 3 golds and Gwaelur’s generosity costs him around the same. **RogueRacer** cannot keep and at the end of the night needs to actually be carried back by Gwaelur. The shipwright would be most thankful to Ghân for anymore help he is willing to provide. The entire town radiates a strong sense of purpose. The residents seem eager to make Tharbad a great trade center. Considering that 63 years ago Tharbad was mainly a handful of roughs and brigands among old ruins trying to prey on these few travelers left, it is a remarkable change for but three decades. Elfstan knows a similar energy can be seen and felt at Fornost Erain. ---

Sir Thoroncir will gladly bend an elbow with, and buy a round for, Gwaelur, Gil-Gandel and the Dwarves in the tavern. (Having learned his lesson on an earlier occasion, he will make no attempt to keep up with the shorter fellows’ consumption). He will also buy a drink for the Linhir shipwright, seeking the latest news from his seaport home. ---

Having made a point of being politely amazed at the technology and craftsmanship demonstrated by the dwarves, Miron will spend the rest of the trip making short trips to look for medicinal herbs around their route. ---

In the morning Elfstan asks Miron if he has any herbs to help with the dwarven hammers that are pounding in his head. He wonders how that one got out of hand. He meant to only have a few pints. ---

Deor will come with the rest of the party to the tavern on the river, but after what happened in Minas Tirith, he’s going to be much more cautious about trying to keep up with anyone, even Hobbits. ---

Right! In that case we go back to Tharbad and tear the festering stinkhole plank from plank until we find the miscreant, and woe betide anyone who utters so much as a cheep of protest, or else we’ll burn the place to ashes, sow the ground with salt and pronounce a curse on it. :mad: Alternatively, we could figure that, given the irreplacable treasures Elfstan already carries around with him, this is like someone breaking into the King’s treasury and stealing the lead off the roof, and let that be a lesson not to get drunk in strange places again. :dubious: ---

As Gwaelur thinks back, he does not recall Elfstan having his purse at the end of the night. He cannot of course speak to the contents of Elfstan’s _pocketeses_. ---

If Ghan doesn’t protest, Elfstan wouldn’t mind having a goodberry for breakfast. That might help with the hammers. Otherwise, he’s had a hangover or two before in the past and has lived to tell about it. “On the bright side, I didn’t have much coin left anyway, and probably had even less after drinking last night. I’m sure no one got rich from what they stole. Still, I wouldn’t mind heading back to that tavern and asking a few questions to see if anyone saw anything. Others are less well off and less prepared to deal with this than us. If something can be done, we can help others too. Will any of you come with me?” Elfstan always wears the mithril mail. If it’s not improper, he will be fully armed. If it is improper, he will carry his +3 knife concealed and his throwing daggers up his sleeves as usual. He will also be bringing his “treasure finding” tools. ---
