Might be sleepwalking...how to make a bedroom door alarm? Need answer fast!!!

Tape or tack a length of string to the top corner of the door. On the other end of the string, tie or tape some bells (Cheap jingle bells bought at craft store would be good for this and they’ll have tons of them right now). Or you could tape or tie several spoons on the string close enough together that they will make noise when they bump into one another. Put a tack or small nail on the wall about level with the top of the door and drape the string over it so that when the door is opened, the bells or spoons will fall and, hopefully, make enough racket to wake you up. Or at least, you’ll have evidence that you had left your room without you remembering it.

I was reading a thread on reddit the other day about weird happenings going on at night. It was referenced during a thread talking about older threads that were important. The OP stated that he would wake up in the morning, and there would be a post it note with strange hand writing on it. It happened several nights in a row, and he suspected the landlord was coming in unbeknownst to him. Someone noted that he said that he had a small apartment with no windows, and questioned whether he could have a CO leak getting into his room. Turned out there was a high level of CO in his apartment that was causing him multiple problems, and likely could have resulted in death.

How about using water? Like the old gag from cartoons.
A couple of plastic tubs, filled to ankle depth with water. Set them by the door, or by your bed,–where, if you do get up and walk around, you’ll have no choice but to step in the water.

Check on top of your fridge. I’ve put things there when I’m making room in the fridge and then I forget to put the leftovers away.

Y’all are nice.

I was going to suggest spreading legos or jacks in front of the bedroom door.

Thumbtacks on the floor.

Me too. Wife caught me with a hooker. Fortunately, when my wife came back unexpectedly from her swim, it woke me up. I was so shocked that I didn’t know what to say, and, it only came to me later that I had been sleepwalking. Fortunate-I might have gone years and never known it.

There are these really neat things called bed alarms. They are used in nursing homes and private care. One piece clips to your jams, the other to the bed. There’s a wire between the two, held on by magnets. When you start to stand up, the connection breaks and a siren goes off.

They are inexpensive and available without prescription from medical supply stores.

Sew a length of twine to the bottom of your pajama legs, allowing you to only spread your legs about 4 inches. It shouldn’t bother you while sleeping, but if you try to sleepwalk…faceplant.
