Definitely see if you can get more of your liquids in “solid” form. Watermelon isn’t in season but even out-of-season melon will pack a pretty good dose of fluid. A fruit smoothie (with some protein powder added, if possible) might be a good idea too.

Your thick water reminds me of the time, decades ago, when my appendix ruptured. I was in the hospital for two weeks, flat on my back, relying entirely on IV for my food and water. They wouldn’t even allow me a sip of water, or to brush my teeth (I was, however, allowed to smoke). It was horrible.
