:eek: ☹ 😃 please someone aggree with me when i say that those mikes hard lemonade commercials are tottally screwed up! you know the ones where the guy grows an extra head that stares at his coworkers boobs , or the one where the guy has a girlfriend and she gets kidnapped by some kinda monster or whatever i mean they are just F\*\*\*ked up! ---

I think they’re pretty inventive and funny – certainly attention-getting, which is really all a commercial has to be. They’re going to get played out pretty soon, though. I can already see them getting a little “out there.” The earlier ones, with the guy falling from a construction site and being impaled, e.g., were funnier, IMO. More subtle. ---

A commercial needs to be appealing, not just attention getting. If attention were the only quality needed to sell a product, then we’d all be buying products whose commercials were obnoxious. Name recognition is one thing; putting your product in a good light is another and is far, far more valuable. That said, the Mike’s commercials are creepy - but fun. For now. 🙂 ---

It definetly got me to remember **Mike’s**. I would say it did its job. More to the point, here we are discussing the **Mike’s** ad-campaign right now. Did they get into our heads, or what? Boy, I sure am feeling kinda _thirsty_ right about now… ---

Well, yeah, it got in your head - but just because it’s in your head doesn’t mean you associate the product with anything good. And if you don’t associate it with anything good, then why would you think of buying the darn thing? I liked the commercials… especially the mutant-head one. Heh. ---

The US sales of Mentos candy more than _doubled_ after the debut of their unbelievably annoying “Mentos - The Freshmaker” campaign. Also, car dealers still stick by those really loud “SUNDAYSUNDAYSUNDAY!” ads, because they still work. As to Mike’s, I liked the old ones with the blue collar guys better. “Tough break, Bob.” “Yeah, my wife just bought me these boots yesterday” ---

Not to get off the topic - but those were annoying to you, not necessarily the multitudes that bought Mentos. Have you ever bought a product _because_ the commercial was annoying? ---

Has anyone seen the parachuting aliens commercial in its original form lately? The man used to walk up to his friend and say, “Well, that sucks.” Which was hilarious. Now, for some reason, he walks up and says, “Well, that stinks.” Even at 3AM. It totally ruins it for me. ---

I mentioned this in another thread long ago: The co-worker of the guy with the second evil head is secretly _way turned on_ by the evil head, because she knows he’ll go down on her **at _any_ time of the month** and not let a little poor hygiene slow him down one bit! I love the one for the cranberry lemonade where the doctor finds the alien inside the guy. It absolutely slays me when the doctor says, “Yeah. That does sound good,” in a slightly distracted deadpan. Haven’t seen the rest of them, except for a brief slice of the extra head one, which looked pretty gross. (I also love Mentos commercials.)
