(Also, I’m sure saying that will bring her back all the faster.) ---

And against hate speech and spam. But there’s no rule against chatting about what’s going on your life, so long as you are engaging other posters, and not just creating a thread by and for you. Much of MPSIMS is material that could go in a personal blog. ---

I just Googled the Ann Landers toilet paper brouhaha and found out this may be more than my personal theorizing: apparently there is a concept in sociology called [“social constructionism”](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toilet_paper_orientation) that relies on the TP story as a classic illustration of the phenomenon. I don’t know if the intermittent Beck furors count as social constructionism or not. Maybe. I’d have to read beyond a Wikipedia page to form a more intelligent judgment. But I’m sticking with the “toilet paper topic” formulation. ---

I too have been a little puzzled about the dislike exhibited here. Beck is being criticized for style, attitude, opinions, whatever, like it’s a bad thing. It seems because she doesn’t think like them, then she’s wrong. ---
