Admittedly, the oil would be annoying. But I would have been delighted. I would spend all weekend separating the copper from the zinc pennies and looking for error coins, rare dates, wheat pennies, high-grade uncirculated specimens, impaired proofs, foreign coins, tokens, etc. Who knows, there might even be an Indian head penny or two in that pile. ---
