Eh, doesn’t seem any different than Princes’ ass-less chaps or Madonna’s canonical bra. Pop-musicians have been doing the over-the-top sexual fashion thing for a long time. It’s not supposed to be “sexy” in the usual sense. ---

I’ve seen that shape and pattern before with “[cupping](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cupping_therapy),” an alternative therapy popular in China. The welts are usually purple not brown and it’s normally on a person’s back, though. And when I say “alternative therapy,” I mean the kind that quacks like a duck. ---

Er, did any of you who are offering reasons for bruises actually look at the links to photos of her tattoos? Cuz if those are bruises, where are her tattoos? It’s tattoos. ---

Yep. In one of the zoomed stills linked you can even tell that the larger one is a face, once you compare to the detailed pic of the tattoos. Just that it’s all blurry and badly resolved, probably out of a combination of motion, lighting, zoom resolution and web resolution. (And I actually find Miley a perfectly fine entertainer in the eccentric vein, across the 30+ year generational gulf. Of course of her work I greatly prefer the Backyard Sessions, where she actually gets to _sing_. Her individual lifestyle is NOMB and anyway pop/rock stars have been affecting Outrageous Wild (Wo)Man personae forever.) ---

I can see Madonna and Cyrus wearing clothes in a calculated sexual way (which makes them curiously un-sexual to me if that makes sense) whereas I can easily imaging Prince going down to the shops in assless chaps or a leopard skin onesie. It seems to be far more an intrinsic part of him. ---

I think she’s awesome and beautiful regardless of her hair length. And I’m pretty sure she had make up on her arms that looks to be wearing off at that point. I’m not familiar with what it looks like when you have a tattoo removed though, so maybe it’s that. It looks nothing at all like bruising in the photos. ---
