So, I’ve been getting a bunch of spam lately in my Hotmail about MILFs or MILF-hunting. It was obviously something pornographic and/or sexual, but I confess that I had no idea what it meant.
Out of curiosity of the new trends in porn, I Googled it, and came up with [this](http://www.turdwords.com/viewWord.cfm?wordID=52). Apparently it means “ **Mother I’d like to fuck** ,” or close derivations thereof.
Well. Learn something new every day.

I heard a 21-year-old guy talking to a woman on the subway last night. He was saying stuff like:
“Everybody who lives up in this town is a couger or a milf. The bars are filled with them trying to get laid because their husbands won’t do them anymore.” I think he was drunk and stupid.
P.S. I live there, and I assure you this guy is deluded. He thinks that just because a woman is over 30 and dressed up in public, that she’s trying to get laid by boyz. Dead feminists are digging their way out of their graves to find out what the hell has gone wrong with the world.

Apparently, a cougar is an older woman out on the prowl for a younger man. I hadn’t heard that one, but I’d certainly heard ‘MILF’ before now.

As part of my language training, we pick a story off the news and translate it for the class’ information (called “briefing”). Friday was a story about how the **M** oro **I** slamic **L** iberation **F** ront had been involved in fighting in Mindano in the Phillipines.
Yes, folks, I briefed the MILF story, then had to explain what MILF meant to my teacher.

Cougar used to mean old men (i.e. over 35) going to raves and eyeing the young women. Now it universally seems to be applied to older women, as **Crusoe** explained.

I’ve received the same email before, and I had guessed it was Mother-in-law-fling. So, really, I was pretty close, except for adding a semi-incestuous twist to it. Here’s a start at other interpretations:

I know at least two guys who tend to go for older women. I make fun of them mercilessly for it, but it’s all in good fun. They have plenty of material to make fun of me with, too.

Apparently this concept has become sufficiently mainstream, such that I’ve heard radio stations hosting MILF and DILF mixer parties.

I suppose I’m into older women too… my wife’s 10 whole months older than me. 😉
Seriously, I thought I kept up with things pretty well, but this was a surprise for me. It doesn’t “gross me out,” but I’m surprised there’s enough of a following to start targeting MILF-hunters specifically.

I know a guy who occasionally takes his cheerleader daughters to out-of-town competitions. He hints at dalliances with mothers of other cheerleaders. In his case, the milfs are his own age.
