I am interested in what you were taught for pace. Did any of you use special/cool lyrics? We used Tequilla for practice but don’t remember doo wah diddying or that’s a fact jacking. Anyway any real or made up cadence will work. ---

We used a ton of cadence songs, and not a single one is suitable for family listening. We even wrote one of our own, since the seven women in my troop felt that the songs were too sexist. You can probably google the lyrics: Three German Soldiers She’s My Lady in Red I Put My Hand Upon Her Leg The Flying Fortress We also sang Do WAH Diddy and IKO IKO but only when we were marching in town. I will say after our 13km ruck march, the Commandant from the school took my officer aside and said, “Nice to see your soldiers know how to swear.” ---
