# Military Coup in Thailand?

I left Bangkok yesterday, and I’m now back in the states. The coup was just as peaceful when I left as it was when I first posted about it.
No shooting had been reported while I was still in Thailand and I would doubt very seriously that any has happened since.
If the whole thing had turned into a shoot-fest we’d all be hearing about it on places other than this message board.

Possibly another reason for the coup. I was talking to my wife this morning and she mentioned that Taksin had done things considered more appropriate for the king to do. In effect, Taksin had usuped some of the king’s perogatives. We didn’t get into details but if true, it might be one more reason why the king approved the coup.
