The Canadian Armed Forces had openly gay recruiters parading in the Toronto Gay Pride Parade, and also had a fixed booth at the parade site. Colour me impressed. 🙂 It’s inclusion and outreach like this that builds my sense of pride in my nation. ---

I like Canada. You people are cool. Could you possibly export a bit of that tolerance our way? That song always makes me think of the Muppet Viking pigs…I guess they could have been gay pigs, come to think of it! ---

Is that what that parade was about? Sorry, I suffer from [gay blindness](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fj3jSxVSCjM) … There were also booths with recruiters from the RCMP, Toronto Police Services, OPP, Durham Region and York Region. Peel Region didn’t have a booth, but their officers marched. Man, times have changed and I couldn’t be happier about it. ---

I am amazed to hear this! How do the brave soldiers of that fine nation manage to deal with their overwhelming terror? You know, A GAY might see them in their underwear! The horror! The horror!! What is a little death and a few roadside bombings compared to the sheer mindblowing terror of having a gay man see your naked ass?! These Canadians are brave indeed… :eek: :eek: ---

It’s nice they finally got officially organized. Prior to this year, gay soldiers have had to recruit festival attendees on a one-by-one basis. ---

But on a more serious note, I’m glad to see this happen. Canada’s been really progressive on the whole gay issue, and I for one am proud of my country for celebrating it and setting an example others should take note of. ---

It isn’t exactly a reality either, since it’s still theoretical, but the US military did indeed speculate verbosely on non-lethal chemical bombs that could theoretically A) Make you horny for Teh Ghey, B) Make you flatulent, C) give you halitosis, and D) make you sweat like Rush Limbaugh in the middle of a massive liberal rally full of gassy gay men with bad breath. **Muffin** , forgive me for the hijack but I wanted to post this and couldn’t figure out where to put it. David Paterson, recently ascended governor of New York, marched in the Gay Pride Day parade yesterday. Not only was he the first ever New York State government to do so, but he had cataract surgery on Saturday and was told by his doctors not to participate. Given that he feels strongly enough about gay rights and inclusion that he recently issued an executive directive that all New York State government agencies recognize marriages from other states, he made it his duty to ignore his doctors be there to express his support for those whose day (and week) it was. Step by step, we’re getting there. ---
