Canada actually dropped the Gay Bomb in 1973 - it’s taking longer than we thought.

[continued hijack]If just two seats in the New York State Senate switch from Republican to Democratic in November’s election, New York will have Democratic majorities in both houses and the governorship when the legislature is seated in January. For years a gay marriage bill has been passed by the Assembly but rejected by the Senate, and it is widely believed that one of the very first items on the legislative agenda will be passage of gay marriage if the Senate flips.

Gay rights will be a significant issue in the New York legislative elections, particularly for several downstate Republicans who will be in heavy fights for their once safe seats.[/hijack]

**Billdo** , with Joe Bruno’ s recent announcement of his resignation (some presure was due to having recently lost some crucial districts), the Republican stranglehold on Albany is slowly loosening.
