# Million dollar/six year old kid sister art {Banana Art}

The certificate is probably much more difficult to forge than the artwork itself, I bet, like a high denomination bill. Or maybe it’s a digital certificate, like an NFT.

I think I’m going to staple a strip of beef jerky to a scrap piece of 2"x4" and put it up for auction. I’ll start the bidding at a very reasonable $50,000.

It’s already been done almost 90 years ago. A prankster named [Hugh Troy](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hugh_Troy) exhibited a piece of corned beef as Vincent Van Gough’s ear.

FYI, the New York Times ran an [article](https://www.nytimes.com/2024/11/27/nyregion/banana-auction-sothebys.html?unlocked_article_code=1.d04.ZEG-.3Rn8d4WSCVn-&smid=url-share) (gift link) about the employee of a fruit stand outside the auction house who sold that banana for $0.25.
