Why hasn’t this piece of shit been banned yet? I’m not even going to get into the utter inanity of the post; just the fact that Milum consistently forgets the “no personal insults” rule is enough. If somebody cheeses you off, Milum, take it to the pit. Don’t offer up some blithe insult to _everyone_ in the thread. Every single post is a fucking train wreck with you. Enough, already.

Doesn’t a personal insult require it to be directed to someone specifically - insted of a group of unnamed persons? E.g. calling Republicans idiots is not normally considered a personal insult, since it’s not directed at a named person.

Because, based on your example, he _hasn’t_ broken the “personal insult” rule. The rules of GD seem to go something like:
1. No personal insults to specific, individual Dopers. (Insulting all Dopers isn’t a “personal insult” under GD rules (as an aside, neither is insulting a non-Doper). See #2)
2. Group insults (“All vegetarians are hard-hat wearing poodle-walkers”) are just fine…
3. …UNLESS the group insult refers to one of a few specific groups\*(minorities, gays) or uses some pretty inflammatory wording, whereupon it becomes “hate-speech”
4. But even though group insults are generally just fine, do it enough times and you’ll break the “Don’t be a jerk” rule.
Thus, **Milum** didn’t break the “no personal insults” rule.

\*One of the more exciting loopholes in the GD rules is to find a group that the person you’re arguing with is a member of and then specifically insult the group. To use my pal **Libertarian** as an example ('cause he knows I don’t mean it) “All libertarians are morons! What? _YOU’RE_ a libertarian, **Lib**? Golly.” **Collunsbury** was a master of this. The “jerk” rule still got him though! 😃

I thought he was using the “wee brains” thing sarcastically, not really trying to insult people. You know, saying, “oh you dopers do not understand the power of miracles! you fools, why do you not just accept that when a person says it is a miracle, that is all the proof you could need! Who needs such foolishness like “evidence”?” Otherwise I would have warned him.

Hmmm…hadn’t thought of it that way. He usually takes the anti-skeptic side in debates, so I assumed he was not being sarcastic, but who knows? I guess he didn’t technically violate a rule, but he just cheeses me off - that’s why I pitted him rather than reporting the post. Hope I did that right.
