Milwaukee Art Museum for sure. Kopps Custard if you can. The lakefront is a gorgeous walk. Go up to Cedarburg and see a friendly downtown with a couple of really wonderful restaurants. I like Milwaukee. I really like Milwaukee people.

… Ok, request sent to Marquette University Special Collections.
I’m back. I had a really good time, despite being sick with a cold. I didn’t go with much of an idea what Milwaukee would be like, but I found it to be a pleasant place. The downtown area was clean and attractive and the people were very nice!
I didn’t get to do much other than conference stuff, but did make it to the Public Museum, Milwaukee Ale House, a couple of restaurants, and found the Fonz statue.
Thanks everyone for your help!
I have an “Experience Milwaukee” card leftover from my conference packet that I didn’t get to use. It gets you into a few venues at 1/2 price (see http://www.visitmilwaukee.org/experiencecard for details). It expires 12/31. If anyone is interested, PM me. I will snail mail it to whoever sends me their address first.
I don’t recommend this at all. I’ve had what is supposedly Milwaukee’s “Best” beer, and it’s awful.
