When my dad died unexpectedly in his early 50s and I heard that more than once at his funeral, I had to bite my tongue to keep from asking people if they were saying God put out a hit on my dad. I guess this nut thinks God likes to cause billions in destruction to sway votes… ---

You know God is really slipping here. Why use storms that can just be hand-waved away? We need some good old fashioned shit, like rivers turning to blood or frogs falling from the skies. Just in case you’re listening God, let’s not go too far. We don’t really need to get into the whole slaughtering of first born sons again, once was enough. Boils we could really do without too. Darkness would be good to do again, it gets the point across and no one has to get hurt. Just sayin’. ---

You know, a halo would do the job, God. No need to get biblical. Not saying that because it would make so many Republican heads explode that I’d enjoy the faint sound of poppin’ popcorn on this side of the Atlantic, just saying. To be serious, this guy is nuts, his opinion is nuts and anyone who interprets meteorological phenomenons to reflect on political circumstances are also nuts. ---

Why doesn’t God just stuff the ballot box? Or change already cast votes to his preferred candidate like he changes liquids to his preferred drink? ---

Did you actually read the OP’s link? Has anybody commenting in the thread so far actually looked at it? If you did, it might occur to you that the minister in question just might be indulging in a little bit of irony at the expense of his crazy, far right colleagues. I think it is quite clear that, although he does believe in God, he also thinks that interpreting weather events as messages from God is ludicrous. ---

What he’s saying, after ridiculing those who think that God would send a storm for political reasons, is that what is Godly is for people to care for each other in a time of crisis, and expressing gratitude to God if that happens. ---
