In a murder case in a town where I lived, a man was charged and convicted of first degree murder because he grabbed a knife before jumping out of his truck to pursue a woman, whom he killed mere seconds after he left the vehicle. He had not decided to kill her until that moment. The few seconds sufficed. Not saying the Chauvin case qualifies, merely that you’re mistaken on the length of time necessary for premeditation. ---

Institutional integrity. It’s good to know that some organizations have it. I’m sure that there are still a lot of officers in law enforcement agencies thinking, “_Whatever. That’s libtard Minneapolis; that shit ain’t happenin’ here._” Maybe not. But it’s a start. ---

Glad I’m not the only one who’s wondering about that. I’m going through the posts on another site, and I’m really surprised that no one has mentioned it there. ETA: I saw the breaking news alert on my phone as I was about to leave work; I felt relief. And the video of Chauvin’s reaction was quite fitting. ---

I’m a little puzzled. Love the verdict, but I don’t understand the phrasing “second degree murder while committing a felony” or however it was phrased. Was the assault the felony and the taking of life while committing that felony what was referred to? ---
