Not some “I’m good enough, I’m smart enough, and doggone it, people like me,” shit. One that gets you out on the field hockey field ready to shed blood if it means you can take a penalty hit. The whole point is to make you feel strong, invincible, and MAD. And not mad at the person making the speech. Mad at your oppressors. I dunno. It works on guys. And I like and respect June Cleaver. Who else could take the hijinks of Wally and the Beav so gracefully and with such good humor? And not kill Eddie Haskell? ---

Wait, I think I have it all figured out. I read “Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus” and this is a classic case of “women want support when they have problems while men just want to fix things.” That explains everything in a one-sentence paraphrasing of an entire book (for those who haven’t read it that actually IS the entire book, repeated endlessly), and if it weren’t true then why was it a bestseller? ---

Regardless of your tone (which, again, is condescending and horrible) you seem to be suggesting that instead of changing board culture by reducing/eliminating sexist garbage, we instead change board culture by turning threads into giant fights between people who spout sexist garbage and the rest of us. I don’t see that as an improvement. ---

It’s still very much a man’s world and if you want to succeed you need to stick up for yourself, not against a guy who basically agrees with you and supports you, but against those turds that really poison the board for women. Forget about it. I guess you don’t really want to grow up and fight for your beliefs because you’d rather try for a special ban hammer for something ill-defined, like misogyny, and have the mods police the threads for you. It won’t work because, if there is anything this thread has shown, it’s that one person’s stupid joke that wouldn’t be offensive anywhere else on the planet is somebody else’s rabid hate speech. **Shodan** ’s right: You want an echo chamber.
