# Misreading thread titles

Maybe it’s the meds.

Today, I saw [this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=282344) on the main page, and recoiled at the thought of a SDMB staff report on shooting _blacks_. That’s how I first read it, until I clicked on the link. Fortunately, it was about shooting _blanks_.

A bit later, I thought [the Pope died](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=282972), but it was actually British DJ John _Peel_, not John _Paul_.

Have you misread or misinterpreted any thread titles recently?

I remember that someone posted “Jon Stewart re-signs for Daily Show” or something, and it was both misleading and fostered a lot of misreading. People were shocked, thinking he had resigned, rather than signed his contract again.
